You reminded me to write my quarterly update on Substack. I use it to keep subscribers abreast of my writing across various sites, and just to chat with the 19 or so people who cared enough to click Subscribe. I never promised them daily or even weekly updates, and the biggest complaint I've ever had (from maybe 3 of them) is that they don't hear from me often enough.
Always leave 'em wanting more. But I agree with you, wholeheartedly. We all suffer information overload and overwhelm. Why add to that? I find myself scanning my inbox, getting more exhausted by the second, until I'm mentally muttering things like, "Oh FFS..." and "screw this," and "where's that unsubscribe link?" and "you're not half as interesting as you think you---wait, that's mine."
