Yeah, BUT... if I heard that, I'd think you had a thousand little resentments piled up behind the dog, and I'd already be stressed. I'd rather hear, "I'm sorry I got so angry. We both had a long day, and it would've been easier just to take the dog out, but when you said no, it made me feel like you didn't care that I'd worked hard all day, too."
