Thoughts on Medium’s Recent and Upcoming Changes
As Medium works to overhaul its look and feel and functionality, some changes are more welcomed than others. What do you think?
You can search Medium for medium changes and see a roadmap of this platform’s evolution from 2015 to present day. As with all changes, Medium’s have been met with a mix of kudos and discontent.
One thing I’ve learned since becoming a writer here is that Medium, unlike other major social media platforms, is responsive to its members. Not that they will always make us happy — with millions of members, that would be impossible. It would require us to change, and to become some nebulous organism of group-think. Then what would even be the point of Medium?
What IS a “Beta Test”?
Don’t laugh, now, if you’re a software developer. There are many people using Medium — indeed, the Internet at large — who are not experienced in software development and don’t know what a “beta test” is. Some of them — this is a common affliction among writers — are curious folk who are willing and eager to try just about anything, provided they’re fairly sure it won’t kill them.
