This works if you're cooking a lot of eggs for chopping, but I'm wondering if a silicone muffin pan might work better if you just want to eat a hard boiled egg, now and then? In that case, it may even be better to keep it in the shell (might it not stay "fresher"?) until you're ready to eat it. But now you've tempted me to try it...
