This is why no one but the copyright claimant is allowed to make a legal copyright claim or file a DMCA take-down request. Some of my articles appear in multiple places, none of which were granted an exclusive license. An overzealous editor might claim I violated my own copyright (which is technically, sort of, possible if you grant particular rights to your work exclusively to others).
