Rasheed is not kidding. I did say exactly this of you — and this is really my shortcoming as an editor. I usually have a strong urge to just rewrite the thing. That’s something the best editors resist; instead, they manage to bring out the best in each writer they work with. It’s a very distinct skill, and you’re one of the rare exceptions to my decades of experience: most of the best editors I’ve worked with prefer editing to writing, and some don’t enjoy writing at all. You do both well.
