While I am a major Medium advocate on most details, this color change has me up at 3 am writing this post on my phone…In other words I think it is ugly, and I am curious whether this is a permanent change or simply something being A/B tested.

Personally, I don't care that it's ugly (and I don't see it at all in my mobile app - I just see the other chart, not the bars) but green is a poor UI design choice for people who are red/green colorblind.
