Your brand of humor is your own, Jill. It is gentle, clean, good-natured, and kind. And I'd rather read that, any day, than a lot of what passes for comedy these days. You are JILL, and this is your style. It's a GOOD thing.

But reading this made me think back to something I said to another friend this morning: by noticing the littlest good things in our daily lives, we develop a habit of noticing good things. When we complain on the daily, we develop a habit of noticing the bad. So when you start to see the ridiculous side of things, you tune your "funny bone" and start noticing the humor around you. It's ALL around us, all the time. And I think you've now helped me to figure out why people call me funny, even though I am not "funny on command." The key is to notice the humor and make a habit of noticing the humor, then weaving it into your stories in a way that's relatable.
