Maybe. But teens from "successful" marriages are probably just as isolated and depressed as any others, and teens living with two parents who are always arguing but "staying together for the sake of the children" may be MORE miserable than those from "broken" marriages.

Teen suicide is, by definition, "out of control." Or maybe I should say, "Out of anyone's control but the teen." Personally, I think teens need less pop-psychology than they do active, attentive parents who aren't trying to live their teen years over, vicariously, through their kids.

None of this is to say that I disagree with what you've written, generally. No matter how miserable the parents, they will ALWAYS be family through their children. And they need to act like grown-ups.
