Marvelous! Such good advice.

While #7 applies to a lot of things - probably to MOST of the things we know we should, but would rather not do - it does not apply to hanging from a skyscraper by your fingernails. See, I have to point this out, because I think Hollywood has made us all feel like failures for knowing we'd fall and go splat. I just had to get this off my chest. Not that it's info you're going to need, I hope, but I'd hate for anyone's last moments on earth to be summed up by feelings of inadequacy as they're screaming "Oh, shit!" and falling 40 stories, you know what I mean?

To combine #5 and #6 - my daughter heard when she was very young that an asteroid was going to hit the earth and wipe out all life on the planet in 2028. I calculated that she had enough time to get a doctorate in Astrophysics or Engineering and figure out how to stop it. But I told her that if she wasn't interested in doing that, then she probably shouldn't waste what was left of her life worrying about it, either. Enjoy the time you've got.

I think she's doing that, now.
