It's kind of you not to point out the hypocrisy in thinking that the US would not - DOES not - do the same.
It matters, to me, that we act in accordance with our values. But it would be naive and impractical to think that one of those values is not to take care of our own people and nation - just as it is every other world leader's priority to do the same - first and foremost. What I don't agree with is the chest-thumping "America First" as if we have a claim to superiority without continually earning it. And we have not been earning it, lately. Maybe in decades.
It's a great place to live, but an accident of birth that we live here. It doesn't make us "better" than anyone unless our deeds prove that out.
