It's a vicious cycle. Any time people think (usually inaccurately) that "xx is the secret to making money online while you sleep" there's a huge hunger for "how do I do xx?" and then "how do I do xx?" articles are exactly HOW. But it's boring and stupid and eventually, every site that caters to it and allows it to predominate will implode and die (see "Themestream," "Red Paper," "The Vines," and others - oh, wait, you haven't heard of them? Wonder why...)

Focus on writing on topics that really interest you. Focus on perfecting your grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Eventually, you'll write something that captivates your audience (to build your audience, share your work but alternate - share OTHERS' work, even more generously!)

Eventually, if you do this, you'll either end up making some money here or you'll be good enough at writing to submit to paying markets and not get rejection after rejection. Writing is NEVER the secret to easy money. NEVER. It's work, and you'll earn more working as a fry cook at a fast food joint, most likely. ;)
