I went to a small community food pantry last year where someone had donated Starbucks coffee - HUGE bags (the kind they use in the store, not retail) of UNGROUND coffee beans. And no one was taking them - they'd been there a while, along with the ground hazelnut coffee (which I like, too). We made a nice donation of cash to the food pantry and took the coffee off their hands, so it wouldn't go to waste or take up space they could use for real food. We got a great deal on some Starbucks coffee (it was getting close to it's "expiration" date - and yes, coffee does lose flavor over time) and they got to buy some chicken or other staples people there would want and use.

Hell, I don't have a Starbucks habit; I actually prefer Kirkland (Costco) 100% Columbian brewed in my drip coffeemaker here at home! But to think that the poor or working poor who are going to a food pantry would be excited over Starbucks coffee beans and not food they could use for the whole family is kind of privileged. (As is the idea that none of them would find it a nice "treat," but it had been sitting there for weeks, apparently.)
