I think you're missing a big part of Trump support - a part that is not, in its heart or its own way of thinking, "racist" but is willing to put anti-racism on the back burner in the delusional belief that it is their sacred duty to prevent women from making choices about their own reproductive healthcare - to outlaw abortion and damn the torpedoes.

ARE they racist? I think so - but they will argue till they are blue in the fact that that isn't so. All they want is to legally enforce their faith-based notion of the "sanctity of life" (which in most cases falls apart the minute you mention prenatal care, would they adopt an unwanted child, would they be willing to pay for food and rent, or daycare and healthcare, for a struggling single parent). They're misogynists who are willing to enable racists in their zeal to "convert" everyone to their particular brand of religion.

To scream that life is sacred demands more than protecting the unborn. It demands actively demonstrating that black and brown lives, LGBTQ lives, women's lives are also sacred. The so-called "single issue, 'pro-life' voters" have failed to do that. But they have not failed in their propaganda to get otherwise decent people to set aside their morals and values in the name of subjugating women. And they are willing to throw in their lot with racists - and white supremacists - to do it. That is tragically telling.
