I had never heard of “congenital cataracts” nor met anyone who had them so young. But I can empathize; I’ve been very nearsighted since childhood. I can still remember, quite vividly, getting my first pair of contact lenses at age 12. I could not only see more clearly, even, than with glasses; for the first time ever, the trees had LEAVES — separate, distinct, individual leaves of many shades and colors.
