Your articles will just appear under your own name and byline, without association to the publication. The same thing will happen to articles in publications you close; they simply revert to the author's profile. No harm, no foul.

There is little advantage to having them buried in large publications. In smaller publications, some camaraderie may result and some mutual support and promotion can happen. Maybe.
