I also have tinnitus. Sometimes, it's a dull roar in the background that I could almost forget. Other times, it is a distraction from my own thoughts. It is most annoying when I'm craving solitude and silence. Music can't fill that need. But I've found that music does a wonderful job of quelling anxiety. Believe it or not, I was in my 50s before I learned how effective it could be. To be fair, I was in my 50s before I realized that I ever suffered from anxiety at all. Fortunately, it's rare and situational.
