Honestly? The part that depresses me most is that the average reader has been conditioned over decades to accept bland and mainstream as the gold standard in writing, IF they read much at all. They wouldn't recognize AI writing because it's so much BETTER than a billion blogs they've skimmed - it would surprise them with its QUALITY, even if what it churned out was crap. Where, once, we had "article spinners" that made an unrecognizable mess of decent writing, we now have "AI" to churn that unrecognizable mess into something that superficially looks well-written.
