Excellent. Yes, AI will end us if we don't rein it in (or improve EVERYONE's understanding of how it works - and DOESN'T work - really FAST).
I've worked with some of the tools out there. They're good, but they're not really as smart as some of us would give them credit for. Ever looked yourself up in one of those people databases? They get SO MUCH wrong. So when someone starts relying on the wrong info, it snowballs. It can ruin lives.
But in a very real sense, machines don't exactly "learn." Someone has to train them to recognize patterns and types of bits of data, then tell them how to put them wherever. The trainer has to be able to think through the logical consequences of whatever the hell they're doing - and the problem is, most are more statistician or programmer than psychologist.
