Ever since the first idiot figured out how to “monetize" a blog, people have been grasping for the brass ring, getting their poor typing fingers ripped off as they fly by on bobbling merry-go-round unicorns, convinced they will become rich in their sleep and richer still by not having to work at all. They don’t realize they’re the dupes providing the cash to the purveyors of “secret formulae" and “methods" and “workshops" that will only teach them how to join the lower tiers of the “make money online, in your dreams" MLM world. They are reading, sometimes emulating, the same copy over and over, in the vain hope that those freebie tips actually will unlock riches for THEM, because they haven’t understood the scheme.

For the avid reader of informative or entertaining prose and poetry, it’s all deadly dull and a bit sad, like watching iron rust and potholes grow.
