:D Yeah, I chose to remain a technical writer (I was already earning more than most starting attorneys, and decided that if I made a typo, no one was going to die, lose their family, or go bankrupt, and I could leave the job at the office at 5). I had my daughter just before the start of my last year of law school. All the areas of law that interested me at the time were risky and required long hours. It wasn’t until MUCH later that I realized I had a passion for copyright law and probably could have made a good living at that. But I have no career regrets, either. I love writing. And I know many lawyers who’ve given up their law careers to go into writing — so, I figure I was just smart enough to know myself before spending a career doing something where I wished I’d done something different.
