I’ve seen a small number of people, over the years, who could pull this off — pathological liars, all of them. It is damnably difficult to sustain a fake persona like this for any length of time, when people (IF people) are paying any attention at all, and assuming the faker has any personality at all — in their own right, and enough to make their sock puppets distinctive enough that friends don’t catch on.

There’s a lot to unpack here, but this is an excellent analysis of the situation — very eye-opening.
