Before taking such a stand, be sure to review the Terms of Service of your web hosting company. (I did, and have asked them to clarify and/or modify their TOS; I'm less concerned, there, because there's no conflict of interest there - I'm a customer, and my content is NOT their product, nor do I imagine they'll ever want to be a "publisher." So their slightly over-reaching terms are just silly boilerplate and have always been there; Medium's is new and very deliberate.)
