I have mixed feelings. I've never felt that a single haiku really deserved a lot in terms of revenue, but a really GOOD haiku might - and there's not a single one that would organically require a reader to spend 30 seconds on the page.
A sonnet might take weeks to write well. (Not all of them are equally well-written.) But most don't take 30 seconds to read.
So IF poets stay, they'll have to get cleverer at "gaming this system," won't they? Way to signal to all of them that they're not wanted here. And I don't think that's true.
